Barry Meyer’s Presents Tuff-N-Uff at the Cox Pavilion

Barry Meyer’s world famous future stars of MMA was hosted at the Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV over the weekend with some exciting defeats and decisions.  Sponsors of the event include Trufusion, AA Printing Services, Hooters Casino and Hotel Las Vegas, Absolute Dental, the Neck and Back Clinics for rehabilitation and recovery, Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys, SportsClips Haircuts, One Nevada Credit Union, Walden Media Productions Inc., Las Vegas Lighting, Deep Eddy Vodka, Port of Subs, All Nevada Insurance, SinTech, Las Vegas Billboards, Couture Dermatology and Plastic Surgery, Palmer Electric, metroPCS, Terrible Herbst Motor Sports Garage and American Foundation for Suicide. 

The main event presented a lightweight championship bout between Nick Perez from the School of Hard Knocks in Las Vegas and Rocky Cantu from Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas where Cantu won in 2:28 of the first round by TKO.  Brandon “Prince” Rios of Fusion MMA in Las Vegas defeated Chris Zercher from All In MMA from Buena Park with a split decision.  Calvin “Hercules” Parrington from School of Hard Knocks won a unanimous decision over Drew Oetgen of Syndicated MMA from Las Vegas.  

            Jayon “New Breed” Bates a Las Vegas independent fighter knocked Calvin “Clark Kent” Agabin from 9” Isle BJJ from Las Vegas in :37 of the first round.  ‘King’ David Gonzales from Planet Corona/Bushido Fight Team in Corona, Ca won a unanimous decision over Miguel Villarreal of Uprising MMA her in Las Vegas.  Nick Patea of All In MMA defeated Joseph “Clutch” Chavez in 1:30 of the second round by making him tap out. 

            Justin Smith an independent fighter from Christiansted, St. Crouix US Virgin Island won a unanimous decision against Isaiah Graham from Synicate MMA.  Leandro Arias from Drysdale BJJ in Las Vegas defeated Robert Ortiz from All In MMA by tapout in 1:34 of the second round.  Robert Stillwagon from Results MMA here in Las Vegas won a unanimous decision against Dequan “Shawty Da Pimp” Meeks from 9” Isle BJJ.  Antonio Gonzalez from 10” Planet Corona forced Ian Radford from Drysdale BJJ to tap out in 1:24 of the second round. 

            Evan Schoonmaker from Results MMA knocked out Elijah Jamerson from Team Asylum in 1:15 of the first round.  Vaughn Thomas from 9” Isle BJJ made an impressive cage debut by defeating Art Aranza, an independent fighter from Las Vegas in 17 seconds into the first round.  Special tribute goes out to Barry Meyer at every event for setting the stage for so many fighters to advance in their MMA career.  This was his passion and in his own words it’s all, “Love At First Fight.”
