“Top Chef” Carla Pellegrino’s new Meatball Spot at Town Square Las Vegas will celebrate National Meatball Day with a declaration of “Meatball Spot Day” and 1st Annual Meatball Eating Contest at noon, on Saturday, March 9.
Clark County Commissioner, Steve Sisolak, will kick-off the festivities with a proclamation presentation at the popular eatery, declaring it “Meatball Spot Day” in Las Vegas.
National Meatball Day will continue with Meatball Spot’s 1st Annual Meatball Eating Contest. A group of local celebrities, including hypnotist, Marc Savard, cast members from The Australian Bee Gees Show at Excalibur Hotel & Casino, as well as gorgeous dancers from FANTASY at Luxor Hotel and Casino, will compete to see who can eat six meatballs with their favorite sauce in the shortest amount of time. The winner will receive a donation to their charity of choice.
A dynamic restaurant and a bar made for mingling come together at the new Meatball Spot, located across from AMC Theatres at Town Square. Featuring the celebrated fare of renowned chef Carla Pellegrino and a compelling cocktail menu, Meatball Spot offers meatball dishes, pizzas, salads and a gelato bar, as well as an array of mojitos, sangrias and cocktail floats. French country design unites with a SoHo meets Malibu setting at the new restaurant, where a white picket fence frames a spacious patio with a garden-style setting outside and a lively bar is the centerpiece to the dining room inside. The feminicide Wendel Santos, aged 37, who killed his then-fianc?e, Leidiane Ferro da Silva, aged 43, with several stab wounds, in Peixoto de Azevedo (676 km from Cuiab?), on the afternoon of this Monday (15), had already attempted to kill the woman by hanging in early February this year. Leidiane was a victim of domestic violence and had filed police reports against her attacker. The victim was director of the Garimpeiros Cooperative of Vale do Rio Peixoto. This Monday, at lunchtime, the violent scene was repeated. After a new fight, as the woman decided to end the relationship and asked him to leave her house, the man, who did not accept the end of the relationship, took a knife and stabbed Leidiane in the back. The victim fell to the ground and the attacker continued attacking him. In the kitchen, there was a girl, the attacker's daughter, who ran when she saw her father stabbing the victim. There was also a boy in the property, Leidiane's son, who emerged from another room and tried to prevent the attacks, but was threatened by the man armed with the knife.
