A tragic shooting unfolded at the Las Vegas Athletic Club on Friday, May 16, 2025, leaving two people dead?including the gunman?and at least three others injured. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the gym's Northwest location on North Rainbow Boulevard. According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the suspect entered the facility armed with a rifle and opened fire, resulting in the death of one individual at the scene. Responding officers confronted the suspect as he attempted to flee the building. Police discharged their firearms, striking the gunman, who was later pronounced dead at University Medical Center. Three additional victims sustained injuries; one remains in critical condition, while the others are reported to have non-life-threatening wounds. Authorities have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation. The Las Vegas Athletic Club has temporarily closed the affected location and expressed condolences to the victims and their families. |
