WHAT:
Silverton Casino Hotel and Zappos.com present the 2nd annual “Mustachio Bashio” and valley residents are invited to sport their best mustache for one night only. Guests can enjoy beer pong, live band karaoke, a mashed potato-eating contest, $1 beer all night with the purchase of a limited edition “Mustachio Bashio” T-shirt and much more.
Celebrity judges will choose the contestants with the best mustaches for a chance to win the title of Mr. Stash 2011 and the 1st place prize of $1,000 along with other great prizes. Limited edition “Mustachio Bashio” T-shirts will be on-sale throughout the night with a portion of the proceeds from each T-shirt going toward the Movember Foundation for Prostate Cancer. Must be 21 years or older to participate.

Police arrested and charged a 16-year-old Tuesday with the killing of another teen in Gastonia over the weekend. Family members said Zaquavious Dawkins, 16, was running errands for his mother Sunday night when he was shot three times in the back on North Chester Street.
