FOREVER RESORTS, NATIONAL PARK SERVICE ANNOUNCE CALL FOR ENTRIES
Art Contest Encourages Students to Celebrate Lake Mead National Recreation Area
On June 6, 2011 the National Park Service and Forever Resorts LLC, an authorized concessionaire of the National Park Service, dedicated the first-ever LEED floating marina building at Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina, Nev., inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. To mark the occasion, the two entities are sponsoring an art contest open to students in Clark County, Nev.
The first-place winner in each category will have their artwork displayed in the LEED building and receive a family four-pack of passes for Forever Resorts’ Black Canyon River Adventure flat-water motor assisted raft tour below
Hoover Dam (
www.BlackCanyonAdventures.com). The second-place winner will receive a $50 gift card redeemable at Cottonwood Cove and the third-place winner will receive a $25 gift card for Cottonwood Cove.
One grand-prize winner will receive a houseboat vacation departing from either of Forever Resorts’ two houseboating marinas within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area including Cottonwood Cove Marina and

Teachers of all winning or placing students will receive two passes for Forever Resorts’ Black Canyon River Adventure flat-water raft tour below Hoover Dam (
www.BlackCanyonAdventures.com). All entries will receive certificates of appreciation for their work from Forever Resorts and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open to all students enrolled in grades K through 12th at a school (public, private, charter) within Clark County.
2. Artwork should be inspired by the landscape, wildlife, outdoor recreational opportunities or history of Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
3. Any two-dimensional medium is acceptable, including paint, watercolor, marker, crayon, collage or a combination thereof.
4. Submissions should be no larger than 20 inches by 24 inches in size, and must be able to be hung on the wall.
5. Each student may submit only one entry.
6. Artwork must be original and not violate U.S. copyright law.
7. Do not laminate artwork.
