The WNBA and AT&T will host Her Time To Play between final games throughout the community. To support the launch of the International Day of the Girl hosted by Ari Chambers and Las Vegas Aces Players Alaina Coats, Sydney Colson, and Cayla George. During the Finals the WNBA will host an event in every city with local teams continuing the WNBA’s commitment to female empowerment through sports.
During the first two days of the events during the WNBA Finals the youth basketball clinic will focus on basketball fundamentals for girls ages 8-16, and off court sessions that will focus on community building an vision boarding. The event will also feature elements from Her Time To Play’s new set of resources, Belonging in Basketball, that is launching on October 11 as part of International Day of the Girl. The three key areas of focus for the expanded resources are participation, leadership, and visibility, with the goal of helping coaches engage their players in meaningful self-awareness activities, leadership conversations, how to cultivate a sense of belonging for every girl on the team, and help build social and emotional muscles of self-awareness, empathy and connections.
